August 8

Only 4 more days until Jim checks in to the hospital for his transplant. He is feeling well, just a little tired from all of the events leading up to this point.

On March 19th when Jim was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, we were told by every doctor that a stem cell transplant was the goal for the best remission of this cancer. It sounded easy at first, this treatment...that medication. We thought, WOW, we can do this! It certainly was not easy to get here and we are sure there is still a tough road ahead, but there is a large sense of accomplishment at our house. We feel lucky and grateful to be in this spot right now. There are many others who are not as fortunate as we are.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Jim will receive a high dose chemo to take his immune system down to zero. Thursday the 14th, he will receive 10 million of his stem cells back into his body, all in the comfort of his hospital bed. The entire process is quite incredible. His recovery time will depend on how his body accepts the transplant.

Thank you all for helping us get to this day! We still need your help and prayers...so stay tuned!

Much Love to you all!
Jim and Patty
