Jim was just taken off the ventilator and will now have what is called a trach mask. The mask will give him oxygen support, but Jim will be breathing completely on his own. It will be much more comfortable for him. This is a huge milestone and allows Jim to move out of ICU in the next 24 hours. Physical therapy will begin working on his strength and the new plan is for Jim to go to Marion Joy from here for rehab.
Just wanted to get this out right away...I will give you an update later today on how he is doing.
