Another Holiday...Another Setback

Unfortunately Jim has gone into renal failure again. He was very fatigued yesterday, so we went to the urgent care to have blood drawn. The tests showed that his kidneys were failing and the creatinine level had jumped up from 1 to 5. We went from there, to the ER at Northwestern so that Jim could be admitted to the hospital. They are giving him fluids to flush the kidneys and he needed two units of blood today as well. His blood pressure has been very low, so there is an outside chance he will have to move to intensive care if things don't improve after the blood transfusion.

Ironically, It was 2 years ago on Holy Thursday that Jim was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. His kidneys had been in normal range the last 2 months, so we were not even thinking there was an issue with the kidneys. We were scheduled to see Dr. Mehta on Monday to get a chemo treatment. The chemo drugs are very hard on the kidneys and continue to be an obstacle for Jim.

Please pray for Jim and pray the doctors find the source of the problem before any further damage occurs to his kidneys.

We wish you a Blessed Easter as we remember that Jesus died for us, so that we could live an eternal life!

God Bless
