Jim is comfortable today and his appetite is good, but unfortunately everything is starting to taste bad to him. The kidney specialists were just in to evaluate. They are considering a biopsy of the kidney and will consult with Dr. Mehta once we have more information from all of the labs and other tests. We discussed dialysis as that may be another option if needed to clear the toxins from the kidneys. Jim's creatinine (a measure of kidney function) is at 6.7 which is well above the 5.0 he came in with earlier this month. Normal range is around 1.0.

We will have a better idea of what is to come, hopefully tomorrow.
