Today is the happiest day Jim has had in the last month. They just downsized and capped his trach today....and believe it or not he is eating and drinking for the first time since Christmas Eve! It was a great moment and he is on the way to to getting the trach out. Physical therapy went well and his strength is pretty good. The cap on the trach allows him to talk and exercise his vocal cords. He has been smiling nonstop for the last hour...

Great News Patty! When Pat was through with Marionjoy he was quoted as saying: Acute care kept me from dying. Marionjoy allowed me to live. I am hopeful the same happens for Jim.

Wooo Hooo! I can't believe it! My sister Pam said Jim's like the Energizer bunny! Just keeps on going. Saw a picture Chip took of Jim eating -- amazing. Now he needs some good Hooters wings and a beer! Love you both! Can't wait to see you. Maybe Sat. or Sun.
