Good Morning,

I know it has been while since the last update. This entire situation seems like a dream and I walk through the days in a fog. Jim is starting day 5 still on a ventilator, unable to breathe on his own. They will try again today to see if it can be removed. He is alert and opens his eyes at times. It is difficult to communicate because he can not talk with the tube in his throat. Jim knows people are there and can squeeze your hand when we talk with him. Jim is aware that his friends and family have been with him these past few days, and it is clear that he appreciates the support and caring.

The pneumonia seems to be stable based on chest xrays and his general condition. Jim has aspergillus, which is a type of fungal pneumonia. The good news is that the fevers are fewer and less sever.

Father John came on Saturday to bless and anoint Jim. We are very grateful to everyone who has brought food and given rides to our family this past week. It has been an extremely difficult few weeks and I feel very blessed to have so many people who care so much.

Keep the faith and keep praying.
