Appointment at Northwestern

Jim's appointment went well today. It was so great to see Dr. Mehta again after all Jim has gone through in the last 6 weeks. His blood panels were at good levels and we learned that the myeloma light chain testing in December showed improvement from the chemotherapy. That being said, Dr. does not want to proceed with this same chemotherapy regiment for future treatment. The risk's out way the benefits and there are other drug options available. The most important task for Jim right now is to build up his strength and gain some weight. Jim will have a CT scan of his chest at the next appointment to see where his lungs are after the pneumonia. This will determine the next plan of attack.

We both breathed a sigh of relief on the way home. All in all a good day, with lots of hope for the road ahead! God continues to show us his goodness and love. Amen!

Jim's strength continues to blow us away!! As for weight gain, we can help you there. Eric had to gain back 15 lbs. after his Type 1 diabetes diagnosis when Rya was born. When you are 6' and weigh 148 lbs. (soaking wet!), losing 15 lbs. is not a good thing. He used nuts (walnuts, macadamias, etc.)and still does, to help him with the calories, yet they are healthy.

Our continued thoughts and prayers to you all.

Hugs,
Ingrid, Eric, Dirk & Rya
