Jim just keeps amazing us all. Yesterday they took his trach out and was permitted to drink liquids. Today he breakfast with the speech therapist and on Monday he will hopefully be cleared to eat 3 meals a day. He is currently getting supplemental nutrition through his feeding tube and has 1 meal each day with a speech therapist to monitor his swallowing. He is talking..just a little hoarse, but getting better each day.
None of the doctors believed me when I told them "you don't know my husband, when he puts his mind to something....look out!"
Once again, he proved me right and now he is ready to sneak out! His nurse Maggie has promised him a pizza party next week, so I am sure he will stick around for that! On Tuesday we will meet with Jim's team to see when he will be released.
The kids have been cheering Jim up and we have played cards, went for walks and worked on the puzzle in the lobby. It is the best medicine Jim can get!
