I meant to get this out yesterday, but it has been a little busy at our house. We received some news we were expecting, but hoping we could put off for awhile. Jim is recovering pretty well from his last setback, however the Myeloma is not standing still. There is some urgency to move forward with the transplant as soon as Jim's body can handle it. The drugs are not working to keep the cancer under control. Dr. Mehta is hoping that Jim will be able to get the transplant as early as the end of May or sooner, if at all possible.

We have made it this far with hope and faith....even though reality is staring you in the face, there is always the outside chance that anything can happen. As much as we are very grateful to have Jim's sisters bone marrow ready to go, the process itself is life changing and scary. On top of that, there is the work issue. It breaks my heart to see Jim spend so much energy worrying about losing his job and our insurance. We have been extremely fortunate to have great insurance to help fight this disease, some people would never have gotten this far without a decent plan. When Jim was first diagnosed the big concern was reaching the lifetime cap. Now it is a matter of survival.

God continues to guide us on this journey. Today's challenge is to have Jim feel well enough to attend Rebecca's confirmation ceremony this evening. She has chosen him as her sponsor and he is determined to be there. Please pray that this will happen, as it is very important to our family.

May God Bless you this day and everyday.....Keep the Faith!

I was just checking in to see if there was an update and noticed my response to this message never got on. Well, I hope Jim was able to attend Rebecca's confirmation. We will continue to pray and send positive thoughts for a 2nd remission.

Hugs to you all,
Ingrid, Eric, Dirk & Rya
