Wow! What a week it has been. Jim is on the road to the stem cell transplant. Thursday the surgeon put in his semi permanent line which will stay in for a minimum of 2 months. This will be used to retrieve stem cells, give chemo and transplant the new stem cells. Friday was a very long day at the hospital to begin the process of stimulating the white blood cells, so the marrow makes more stem cells to be collected. I have had a crash course in nursing and know how to hook up an IV, flush lines and administer MANY drugs....Let me know if you ever need my help.

Jim has once again been a trouper though this very hectic process. We are both happy to be moving forward to put this disease in it's place. Next week is full of doctor visits and Jim will have to limit his interaction with people as he will be very susceptible to infection.

We will be needing additional help throughout the next month, so check the website for updates.

Patty
