Today ended up being a longer day than originally planned. Jim was supposed to get a quick chemo shot and be done. When the blood results came back his platelets had dropped in the 20's and he needed we needed to schedule a transfusion. We could either go back to Northwestern tomorrow or go to CDH this afternoon to get blood typed and transfused at CDH tomorrow. We chose the later as it is more convenient, but it was a very long day again. Jim's white blood cell count also bottomed out, which is expected. This puts him in high risk for infection, so we now have to be cautious again. No sick people around...no hugging or shaking hands, which is very hard for Jim. This should improve over the next week or so.

The highlight of our day was visiting the Imerman Angels office. We got to meet all of the wonderful people who are behind the organization and spend a little time with Jonny Imerman the founder of the non profit organization. We are very excited to get involved in the great effort to give one on one cancer support to patients within the first 24 hours of diagnosis. It is free to anyone with any type of cancer. We were actually connected with a wonderful couple, Lance and Lynn who are getting treatment at the Myeloma Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas. Lance is 39 years old and has the exact same type of cancer as Jim. Being able to talk with someone going through the same illness is very powerful medicine. our family is committed to giving back to anyone with cancer. We have had the honor of all of you wonderful friends and neighbors who have selflessly given to us. We honestly could not get through all of this without each one of you helping our family.

Thank you for lifting us up each day and giving us your support.

You are our Angels!!!
