I am sitting in the family room at the hospital, with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan out the window. Jim is having a consultation, so I thought I would update the blog. Not a good day for Jim as he tested positive for C.Diff, an infection in the intestines. We also found out today that Jim will start dialysis tomorrow. They will put a new line in his chest in the morning and he will then receive 3 days of dialysis and see where the kidney function is at. The Myeloma is causing the renal failure and they have opted not to do a kidney biopsy. If needed he will continue to receive dialysis 3 times per week, but after the initial 3 days, the remainder can be preformed out patient. As soon as the kidneys are better, we will go ahead with the transplant right away.

The road ahead is challenging, but we talk frequently each day about how we want to go forward. We realize what is truly important and how we want to spend our time as a family. Jim says thanks for all the cards, calls, emails and prayers...they are much appreciated! Feel free to call him, he could use the company.

God Bless
