Jim started dialysis yesterday. It is a long process for him.... they take him to another building through the tunnel and he is hooked up for 3 to 4 hours. We hope that he can come home by Wednesday, as he has had enough of the hospital and just wants to be home again. I would like that too because the drive through all of the construction is making me crazy. I have actually had road rage almost everyday! Unfortunately, when Jim gets his transplant he will be in the hospital for about 3weeks and the construction will be in full swing.
Becca and Jack got to visit today and his brother brought him McDonald's, so that perked him up. Jim's high school friends, Bob and John also surprised him with a visit today.
Yesterday we had another wonderful Eucharistic Minister who brought communion. She talked with us for quite some time and told us all about the Divine Mercy. We said the prayer together and had a great conversation about God's grace and his plan. Her husband has Lymphoma. We shared with her our story about Johnny Imerman and his wonderful cancer support network. She was not aware of this organization, so we gave her a brochure and hopefully we helped someone else connect with this great cancer support service. The Imerman Angels organization connects cancer patients and caregivers with others who have the same illness for free support and mentoring. It has quickly grown and reaches people all around the world. Our connection is with Lance and Lynn, who are being treated in Arkansas at the Myeloma Institute at UAMS. Lance was diagnosed in 2005 with the same Kappa Light Chain Myeloma that Jim is battling. His wife Lynn has been a wonderful support for me. although we have never met,I feel like I have known her for a long time. They have an amazing faith and strength that is inspiring to us. For those who pray, please keep them in your prayers as well.
