A Setback

Jim has been coughing up blood the last few days, so a CT scan was done of the lungs. He has something called "Ground Glass Opacities" which can be a sign of infection or inflammation in the lungs. They are testing the samples and there is concern of aspergillus pneumonia again. They have started broad spectrum antibiotics to try and treat the infection. On Monday or Tuesday Jim will have a bronchoscopy to further clarify what is going on in his lungs and where the blood is coming from. They normally take a biopsy of the lung when doing this procedure, but none will be taken as Jim is having low platelet issues. A sample of fluid from the lungs will be taken for cultures.

I have to say that I am scared with these developments, but have complete faith in the Lord and our wonderful team of doctors. Jim is in great hands and that is a great comfort to both of us.

Please pray for Jim's body to continue to fight through this difficult time. Pray for the doctors to be given the tools to knock this cancer down. Pray for Becca and Jack to not be afraid and know that God is taking care of all of us.

Keeping the Faith...God Bless
